Wedding Shower Wear

I attended my first wedding shower of the season this weekend and I thought I would share my ensemble.

I found my dress from Boden and I just loved the print and color combination. For those of you who have not yet discovered Boden, it is an online catalog store based out of the UK that ships internationally. I am petite and their clothes fit me perfectly not to mention they are affordable and they are made from great quality fabric.

If you are a petite, I would love to know where you find your most fashionable finds as well as where you find your best deals! Please share!

One Piece Wonders!

It is another 100+ degree day here in Texas, so I am really starting to miss the beach!

I am in dire need of a new swimsuit for the beach this summer, but after watching the Miss USA pageant, I am definitely not in the market for a two piece! I have been pleased to find that there are some really cute one piece options out there. Here are a few that I am considering:
Land's End - Beach Living Paisley Print

La Blanca - Sweetheart

J. Crew - Ruched Banded Bandeau Tank

Watch out Esther Williams.....here I come!

J-Hud Is Winning

Have you seen Jennifer Hudson lately (J-Hud as many affectionately call her)?

I am just blown away by her!

A few of her accomplishments include: Wife, Mother, Weight Watchers' spokesperson, Academy Award Winning Actress, Grammy Award Winning Recording Artist, and American Idol Finalist. But most impressive of all, she's a survivor. She has triumphed in spite of the horribly tragic murders of her brother, mother, and nephew. In several interviews, she credits her faith, music, new baby and fiancĂ© for helping her find the courage to overcome  this adversity. I think her recent physical transformation demonstrates just some of her personal strength.

As a spokesperson for Weight Watchers she has apparently positively influenced the company's stock price (the new point system may have a little something to do with that too). You can read more about her experience with the Weight Watchers' program here

She is also debuting a new album in late March. Read more about Jhud here.

Style Icons

I came across a fun quiz on Elle.com, it is about determining your personal style. The quiz resolved that I am "a Classicist -- modern yet edgy, you love smart blazers, sleek skirts, and accouterments with a professional flair."  I was happy with the results, I think the quiz was pretty accurate! To take the quiz yourself, click here

Here are just a few of my favorite style icons:

Grace Kelly

Natalie Portman

Reese Witherspoon

Ali MacGraw

Jackie Kennedy Onassis

Shoes, shoes, shoes......how will I pick the perfect pair?

There are so many different brands out there, most are really expensive, but as always the most expensive seem the most appealing! Unfortunately, parents still just don't understand! I mean isn't amazing style and comfort on your daughter's wedding day worth it?

Below are a few of my favorites..........I just might have to bite the bullet and pay a pretty penny!

Ooooooh, the Carmen satin peeptoe in warm blush from jcrew.com! Oh how I love your soft, feminine sheen, and the subtle way you will display my freshly pedicured toe cleavage! Yes, that's right, I said toe cleavage!Tinsel by Cynthia Rowley at Onewed.com

I've always loved your whimsical yet, sophisticated sense of style. From your manifesto: "Swell: A Girl's Guide to the Good Life", to your late 90s stylish home line at Target, to my latest discovery of your fun and flirty bridal shoes -- you are truly FAB-U-LOUS! Don't know if I can live without your blue-soled shoes on my wedding day........oooh and dyeable tooo!

I heart you!
Love, ME

Another fabulous bridal shoe, as the infamous and always stylish Carrie Bradshaw would say, "Hello Lovaaaaah"! You red soled shoe designing diva -- you are fabulous too! -- but unfortunately have far surpassed my shoe budget. I think I must say "TTFN" to even the thought of your shoes!

I HEART BRAVO

How did I survive without Bravo??? I mean what was actually on tv before Project Runway, Flipping Out, Kathy Griffin Life on the D-List, and the Real Housewives series(s)??!!! What mindless, entertaining -- fun! I find myself watching episodes again and again.

Although this is not my favorite season of Project Runway, how can I not watch in wonderment -- just hanging on pithy comments of Michael Kors, or fondly counting the number of times Tim Gunn will say "Make It Work" and then waiting in suspsense to hear who Heidi Klum will give the ax with her signature "You're Out" and "Auf Wiedersehen!" If not just a fabulous show, definitely an amazing catchphrase generator!!!

My two newest obsessions from Bravo..... The Rachel Zoe Project and Million Dollar Listing!!! Back with more details on them later.....
